Thankful Thursday
Between the election and the crazy post election drama, I think it’s time we all sit back, turn off facebook, and get back to more thanksgiving related topics. In light of that, I’ve posted my last election related comment on Facebook and am moving on. We’ll see how this goes 😂
I’m thankful for coffee and quiet mornings, even when I have to get up at 5 to squeeze in quiet before the loud.
I’m thankful for brilliant sunrise and flaming sunset.
I’m thankful for autumn sunlight and falling leaves.
I’m thankful for the little faces around my table, and the conversations we have.
I’m thankful for the blessing and responsibility of having these young people to raise up. I pray by God’s grace that they will be kind, educated, thinking adults who know to tell right from wrong, truth from lies.
I’m thankful for the house that we own, and that we were prepared for this season of job training transition.
I’m thankful that we live near dear friends and family.
I’m thankful to live in a place where I can hear Christ’s saving, all-atoning grace preached every Sunday, and I’m thankful that He has saved me.
I’m thankful for evenings, and quiet time to recharge when the kids are in bed.
I’m thankful for books–reading, writing, and learning through them every day.
I’m thankful for my violin, and the ability to make music.
I’m thankful that I live in these United States, and that for all our faults and differences, I think most people still desire freedom, respect each other, and want to live in peace.
And that’s a start. Let’s all try to focus more on counting our blessings as we near Thanksgiving. There are so, so many things to be thankful for today! Don’t miss them!
