Minding My Peas

Pursuing Mindfulness in Motherhood and Life

Sophia Louise, Age 8

April 14, 2020 Uncategorized No Comments

Somehow, and I don’t know quite how it happened, I’ve been a mother for 8 years. The girl who made me a mama is still the greatest ray of sunshine to us. She is brilliant, funny, helpful, sweet and responsible. She is definitely the ringleader amongst her siblings, but they are happy to go along for the ride in whatever imaginary adventures she’s off on. She persistently wants to be a pediatrician, but she’s also mildly obsessed with the weather and being a ‘storm chaser’. We are so thankful for our sunshine girl.

What is your name? Sophia

How old are you? I’m eight, even though I don’t feel like I am.

What is your favorite color? My favorite color is a light purple

What is your favorite toy? My barbies

What is your favorite fruit? Mango

What is your favorite book? Harry Potter!

What is your favorite movie? Phantom of the Opera

What do you want to be when you grow up? A pediatrician.

Who is your best friend? Kinsley

What makes you happy? When mommy gives me ice cream.

What do you love to do with your family? Biking.

What do you like to do during the day? I like to go outside.

What do you like to think about before you fall asleep? Phantom of the Opera

What is your favorite game to play? Spies or Adventurers

What is your favorite place? The playground, but for bigger kids. LIke the gymnastics playground.

What do you like to buy at the store? Hubba bubba

Who is your favorite person? Siegfried

Who has the prettiest hair? Mommy

Who has the cutest cheeks? Eva

Who has the prettiest eyes? Daddy

What flowers do you like? Roses

What clothes do you like? Light purple, springy dresses

What is your favorite song? Shake It Off.

What is your favorite thing to do outside? Play ball

Is there anything else you’d like to tell me about yourself? Of course! Well, I wish I could play with Sieg more often. Yesterday and today, Klaus acted like the Phantom of the Opera and had this big blanket over him and kept swinging it around. And he came over to us and took Sieg! And he also said, “Run away, Sieg! Run away!”

Tell me about what a perfect day would be like for you? Well, a nice summer day that is hot, and the ice cream truck comes by and mom buys us some ice cream or I buy my own.

Welcome to Minding My Peas

I’m Elizabeth, wife of superman and mother to my four little peas. We’re on a quest to pay off our second house, travel as a family, and spread the feast of a living education for our children.  I’m obsessed with books, budgets, chocolate, and learning new things.  Right here is where I’m trying to record the story of this life. Welcome!
